Manu National Park - Cultural Zone
This adventure tour offers you a range of activities as it takes you through colonial towns, jungle villages, into the incredible biological diversity of the Amazon basin. Whatever you preference, the incredible biological diversity of the cloud forest and amazonian basin is sure to delight you, with its abundant plant, animal and bird life.

Program Itinerary

Day 1: CUSCO – AMAZON PONA LODGE
Our adventure into the Jungle of Manu start with picking you up around 5:30 AM, from your Hotels in Cusco, using the service of our private Manu Wildlife Tours transport. The first part of our excursion is will take us through the majestic Andean mountains and andean villages. Before mit-day we arrive at the entrance of Manu National Park, the access point to one of the most protected natural areas in South America. From here we will continue into the Cloud Forest and at Fog forest we will explore for around 4 hours to observe the National bird of Peru, the cock of the rock, the second biggest monkey in Peru (woolly monkeys) and to appreciate different types of bromeliads and beautiful orchids, and in a lucky day we might encounter the Andean Bear (Tremarctos ornatus) and many others exotic birds like Blue-banded Tucanet, Golden-headed Quetzal and Crested Quetzal, then We arrive to our selected Amazon Pona Lodge. In the evening, we'll walk into the jungle, (night expedition) to see tarantulas, different types of spiders, poisonous frogs, tree frogs, snakes, night monkeys, Giant armadillos and boas. (B, L)

Day 2: AMAZON PONA LODGE – SOGA DE ORO LODGE (River Boat - Lagoon Exploration)
We will wake up early in the morning with the singing of the Amazonian birds and after breakfast we continue by bus to tropical lowland rainforest, stopping along the way to visit a coca, pineapple and banana plantations. Arriving at the port of Atalaya at 650m, we change into a motorized canoe to navigate down the fast Alto Madre de Dios River, with all equipment (life jackets) to our lodge, along the boat trip, we can see a variety of birds, such as herons, Kingfisher and always the presence of vultures of which the most spectacular is the condor of the jungle, the king of vultures (Sarcoramphus papa).
After the lunch in our lodge we explore the deep part of the forest, in the trails we will see Monkeys like Brown Cappuchins Monkey, titi Monkey, squirril Mokeys or could be wood peckers, Macaws, Parrots, Toucans and eagles, we will also visit Machuwasi Lake where we will take a wooden balsa and see Capybaras and the pre-historic Hoatzin bird. In the evening (night expeditions) to see tarantulas, different types of spiders, poisonous frogs, tree frogs, snakes, alligators, night monkeys, armadillos and boas.

We will spend the night in our rustic at Soga de Oro Lodge. (B, L, D)

Day 3: SOGA DE ORO LODGE – CUSCO
We start early and take our motor boat to the small colpa (wall of clay lick) is located in the river bank, where hundred noisy species of parakeets, parrots and small macaws come to feed on mineral soil and salt supplement that they find in this clay. After breakfast we will walk in the jungle to see more wildlife, more birds such as tiger heron, eagle, flycatchers, kingfisher or more monkeys
We will return to Atalaya by boat where our private bus will be waiting to take us back to Cusco.
We return to Cusco via the cloud forest and Paucartambo. We will arrive back in Cusco in the late afternoon. (B, L)
